Backup and restore

This browser holds the only copy of your data. One click makes a complete backup that opens in Excel or Google Sheets and restores everything exactly.

Full backup .xlsx

One workbook with Read Me, Caseloads, Students, Goals, Sessions, Trials and Settings sheets. Use it for safekeeping, moving to a new computer or a full restore.

Roster .csv

Students in one caseload or all of them. Edit in a spreadsheet or share with a co-worker.

Session data .csv

One row per goal per session with counts by cue level, percentage, minutes and notes, for your own analysis or district reports.

Files are named with the date, e.g. slp-backup-2026-10-25.xlsx. CSVs are UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so accented names open correctly in Excel, and any cell starting with =, +, - or @ is escaped so a spreadsheet cannot run it as a formula.

Import a roster

Drop in a .csv or .xlsx, or paste names straight from a spreadsheet. The importer guesses which columns hold names and grades and lets you correct it before anything is saved.

Keeping your data safe

  • Reminders. The header shows how long since your last backup. After 7 days or 10 new sessions a banner offers a one-click backup.
  • Persistent storage. The site asks the browser to protect its storage from automatic clearing. The status above says whether the browser agreed.
  • School-managed Chromebooks. Some erase browser data at sign-out. Test it once: sign out and back in, then open this page. If your caseloads are gone, restore from backup and ask IT to allow-list this site, or back up at the end of each day.
  • Moving devices. There is no sync, because there is no server. Download a backup here and restore it on the other device.
